JANUARY EXHIBIT FEATURING PAINT PUSHERS GROUP
"Interesting Places, Interesting Faces"
LEARN MORE
Edmond Fine Arts is opening the new year with the EFA Gallery featuring the Paint Pushers Group Show, Interesting Places, Interesting Faces. The show includes works by Clay Moore, Diane Goldschmidt, William Lentz, Glen Thomas, Cheryl Smith, and Charlotte New. All are invited to the opening reception on Thursday, January 8 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Edmond Fine Arts.
This group exhibition highlights the compelling perspectives of six Oklahoma artists who explore character, landscape, emotion, and story through diverse media and styles.
Diane Goldschmidt discovered painting by chance in the 1990s and has been passionately creating ever since. Known for her joyful and humorous perspective, she has exhibited widely and organized annual emerging-artist shows. She aims to spark memory and delight through her work.
William Lentz, a longtime watercolor artist and instructor at Edmond Fine Arts and Healthy Living OKC, brings decades of study and exploration to his expressive work. Having trained with multiple notable watercolorists, he continues to pursue the unique emotional range and spontaneity the medium offers.
Clay Moore, a pharmacist and owner of Medic Pharmacy at Hefner Pointe, returned to art after a 30-year pause. Originally introduced to watercolor in the 1980s, he has since expanded his skills through classes with Glen Thomas, Leslie Lenau, and mentorship with Tina Garrett. Now working primarily in oil and charcoal, Moore creates realist works with a touch of impressionism across still life, landscape, and figurative subjects.
Charlotte New has been creating since childhood and rediscovered her artistic path later in life after careers in the Air Force and nonprofit leadership. Trained extensively in oil painting and sculpture, including study with Glen Thomas, her work has been exhibited throughout Oklahoma and Kansas and can currently be seen at 50 Penn Place Gallery and The Studio Gallery.
Cheryl J. Smith is a contemporary artist whose paintings explore the interplay of color, texture, and emotion. Inspired by nature and memory, her expressive brushwork and balanced compositions evoke movement, depth, and reflection.
Glen Thomas, a sculptor, painter, and illustrator trained at USAO, works in oil, pencil, clay, bronze, and more. Known for his focus on portraiture and the figure, his work appears in numerous collections and in Oklahoma City at 50 Penn Place Art Gallery and The Studio Gallery. He teaches sculpture and painting in OKC and was honored with the 2025 Oklahoma Sculpture Society Lifetime Achievement Award.
Attendees are invited to meet the artists, explore the gallery, and enjoy community during this free, public event. Artwork will be available for purchase, with a portion of proceeds supporting Edmond Fine Arts year-round arts programming. The exhibition will be on display in the Edmond Fine Arts Gallery throughout the month of January. Gallery exhibits are free and open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
