EDMOND YOUTH CHORUS
​EYC is an honors chorus for students in 4th - 8th grades. Directed by Leah McDonald & Karissa Parkhurst, Pianist. Friendly auditions are held in July & August. Rehearsals are Mondays from 4:30-6:00. At Edmond Fine Arts Institute. Students perform statewide Sept - May.

Whether your child is a seasoned singer or “just loves to sing”, the Edmond Youth Chorus is an outstanding opportunity and privilege for 4th - 8th grade students. Children from all over Edmond have been singing, learning and making friends in the Edmond Youth Chorus for 40 years.
Rehearsals: Monday, Sept. - May from 4:30 – 6:00 pm at the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond at 27 E. Edwards
Tuition: $500 paid in two payments of $250 (August & January) OR $450 (10% discount) if paid in full by September 15th

Tuition includes: * 2 OKC Thunder tickets (additional tickets may be available FAI price TBD)
* EYC performance T-shirt
*Tuition must be paid in full before students can perform at OKC Thunder games
*Weekly vocal instruction and will learn a wide range of selected music such as contemporary, sacred, folk, patriotic, seasonal, and classical.

Auditions: Friendly auditions are held multiple times in July & August
Children are asked to sing a familiar tune and will be given music patterns to sing.
No more than two children at a time, and they will sing together and individually during the five-minute audition.
Singers do not need to have anything prepared in advance for the audition​​

Get to Know Us
Leah McDonald teaches music education at Heritage Elementary School in Edmond. She is the current past president of the Oklahoma Music educators Association, and a graduate of Oklahoma State University in Vocal Music Education and a Master degree's in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance. She received graduate training in Kodaly and Orff methodologies and was the recipient of the Fine Arts Educator Award and an Oklahoma Teacher of the Year finalist.
