"THE FROG PRINCE"
by Max Bush
Directed by Susan Scott
The fall production presented by the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond was the hilarious rendition of “The
Frog Prince” written by Max Bush and directed by Susan Scott.
The Fine Arts Institute is Edmond’s non-profit organization offering educational enrichment for children and adults in the visual and performing arts. The organization is now in its 25th year.
“The cast was comprised of talented children who love to act. I am confident the play will be another FAI hit,” says Susan Scott, Director. “The Institute is an important venue for children’s theatre in our community.”
When a beautiful but rather spoiled Princess mistakenly drops her favorite
golden ball down a well, a frog hears her cries. The frog (once the
handsome Prince Erik) promises to retrieve the ball if she will only let him
eat from her bowl, drink from her cup and be his companion for an
evening. The prince knows this is the only way to break the spell put on
him by an old hag years earlier. Princess Luana immediately agrees, but
once she has the ball, she runs off not keeping her promise. That evening
at her birthday party, the Frog Prince shows up. What comes next is a
hilarious chain of events that will make everyone laugh.
The cast included: Rachel Funderburk (Princess Luana), Katie Cheap (Hag), Sara Baird (Pantera), Matthew Tripp (Heinrich), Alexandra Simpson (Gerda), Grace Collier (Marta), Jonathan Dawson (King Keisel), Max Rainey (Darcy), Erin Raiden (Dagmar), Cameron Freeman (Prince Erik), Adam Morey (Hans), Jack Cheap (Jester), Nick Morey (Musician), Jessica Couch (Poet), Hannah Wasson (Dancer/Gymnast), and Vanessa Lay (Juggler).
