Plan your Birthday party or event at the FAI!

Birthday Party Information

For birthday memories that last a lifetime, whether rain or shine, there’s no better way to celebrate your child’s birthday than with an Art Party at the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond! Your party will include the fun elements of art and provide the perfect birthday experience for your child.

• FAI parties last 1 ½ hours, and the children spend the first 45 minutes enjoying the art project. We provide a variety of age appropriate projects for you to choose from. We supply all the art materials and our teacher, Joy Baresel, will guide the group through the project that each child will take home.  You then have at least a half hour to serve refreshments and open presents.

• The FAI will supply: custom printed invitations, paper goods (plates, napkins, cups, forks/spoons, table cloths) and a special apron for the birthday child.

• You supply: the cake, ice cream and drinks (please no red drinks).

You won’t have to worry about a party favor because each child will be taking home their own art creation as a special favor!

We suggest children wear play clothes or bring smocks to protect their clothing.

You may choose an art project from the list below or consult with our teacher, Joy to customize your own!

• Lots and Lots of Dots

The principle of repetition along with the element of color will be used as students create their own pointillism painting. Based on the impressionist style of Seurat, the students will use Qtips and watercolors when creating their own masterpieces.

• What’s in the Sky?

Students will learn how to render sky and clouds, create the illusion of depth and create a sense of time and motion. We will look at light and how it translates into the sky. Students will discover the joys of mixing and blending color.

• Under the Sea

What amazing creatures and unique plant life exist beneath the sea? Students will look at some ocean-related images and we will discuss what we might find under the sea if we were scuba divers exploring the ocean floor. The art of crayon resist will be explained as children create their sea-life pictures.

• Tree Reflection Monoprints

Students will create a landscape by using the technique of monoprinting. First, we’ll create a monochromatic painting. Values of a chosen color will be varied to create depth in the pictures. Then, we’ll create a reflection by simply folding our papers.

• For our 4-6 year olds, we will provide a project using Sculpey. Children can exercise their artist muscles while making a colorful and fun clay sculpture to take home that day.

We ask that 4-6 year olds please limit the number of guests to 10 children.

For ages 7 and up, a party is $200 for 10 children, plus $15 for each additional child (up to 15 kids total).

 A deposit of $75 must be paid upon booking the party and is nonrefundable. Payment is due one week prior to the date of your party. Party must be supervised by at least one adult at all times.
